Core financial literacyA framework for reading business modelsYour own startup financial modelDecision-making with numbers
Every great business idea eventually has to become real numbers
🧠 You already have
"A business model that could actually change the market"
You may already have sharp business instincts or real technical skill — the idea is real, the market is real, the drive is real.
But
📊 Then you open Excel and
"How do I model revenue? What do I count as cost? How much money do I even need to survive?"
The moment financial statements or a complex spreadsheet show up, the anxiety kicks in. We know that feeling.
This is a hands-on program built specifically for finance beginners and early-stage founders. You don't need an accounting degree, and you don't need to write formulas. Over two weeks, guided by Mosaic Venture Lab's own frameworks and Tessly, a next-generation dynamic forecasting tool, you'll build your business model out with your own hands.
A tiny cohort over two weeks, so you leave with a working financial model you can present on the spot.
01 / PLAIN LANGUAGE

Bring in Tessly and, guided by a professional financial advisor, enter your core business assumptions step by step to generate a visual financial report in one click.

[SCENARIO PLANNING]
Business modeling and decision simulation
Numbers aren't decoration — you'll learn to use them to find your strongest survival strategy.

What is scenario planning, and how do you pitch your financial model simply to a co-founder or angel investor?
2.2

A clean, structured, working financial model — and real decision-making skill to go with it.
Who this is for
From idea to MVP — if you want to turn a hunch into real, calculable numbers
No finance background needed, no formulas required, and you don't even need a registered company yet — just bring your business model.
Idea stage
Want to know if this idea actually makes money — and whether it's viable
You've got a business model in your head and want to work out, before you commit: how much money, how long to break even, and whether it's worth doing. Day 1 turns it into a report you can actually see.
Early-stage founder

You need to get a handle on your company's basic financial position. How does revenue build, what counts as cost, how many months can you survive — figure this out first, before you talk to co-founders and angel investors.

Level 2 · Advanced
Already have a company and raising funds? Go straight to Advanced

I have zero finance background — can I really keep up?
This course is designed for complete finance beginners. You don't need an accounting degree, and you don't need to write formulas — Day 1 explains revenue, cost, cash flow, and runway in plain language, then you follow an advisor step by step in Tessly and the system generates your report for you.
I don't have a registered company yet, just an idea — can I still apply?
Yes. "Idea stage" is exactly one of the audiences this course is built for — working out whether the idea actually makes money and is viable is what Day 1 does. If your company is already formally registered and you're raising funds, the series' Advanced course, "Rebuild & Stress-Test Your Financial Model," is the better fit.
What do I need to prepare in advance? Do I need to bring an Excel file?
No finance background is required, and you don't need a spreadsheet ready beforehand. Just bring your thinking on the business model: what you sell, to whom, how you charge, and roughly what it'll cost. Day 1 starts exactly from these "assumptions in your head" and builds your first model in Tessly.
In person or online? Where is it held?
Both evenings are in-person, tiny-cohort, hands-on sessions, with a professional financial advisor guiding and reviewing on the spot. Venue: . Class time is 19:00–21:00. The course is taught in Mandarin.
Does a team need to be two people? Can I come alone?
Pricing is per team (NT$1,000/team); each team can include up to 2 members, and applying solo is fine too. If you have a co-founder you make decisions with, we'd suggest bringing them — Day 2's scenario planning works well for aligning on shared goals.
What happens if it's full?
Strictly capped at 5 teams. To keep the quality high, if this cohort is full we'll give you priority for the next one and notify you by email.
Turn the great idea in your head into numbers investors can actually read
